A-Line Style

 A-line style dresses have no visibly marked waistline. They flow from shoulders down to a flared skirt. The A-line style wedding dress is truly a classic – this style usually works for women of any body shape or height. While not as full as a ballgown, the A-line helps hide lower body flaws. Women who have pear-shaped bodies tend to find the A-line style flattering.

Ball Gown Style

If you’re looking for a “Cinderella” dress, you’re probably envisioning a ball gown style wedding dress. These dresses are fitted at the top, followed by a full-skirt. They flatter most body styles and are good for hiding weight carried in the hip and thigh areas. The only body type this style gown doesn’t flatter is the very short woman.

Sheath Style

If you aren’t happy with your figure, you probably won’t be happy with a sheath style gown. Sheath style wedding are unforgiving and do not hide flaws. This type of wedding dress is dress is slim and figure-hugging. Sheath style designs often work well for short brides.

Empire Style

If your ideal wedding dress is more along the lines of a medieval style, you might like an empire style wedding dress. The empire styled dress features a raised waistline that comes right up beneath the bustline. It flows more or less straight down to a skirt that flair just a bit at the floor. The style is flattering to women with a pear-shaped figure and to those with a small bust.

Mermaid Style

The mermaid style wedding dress is just what it sounds like – mermaid shaped. It skims tightly over and around curves then startsto flow out once it reaches the knees. Some consider this style to be the sexiest wedding dress out there. If you’ve got it and have decided to flaunt it for The Wedding, this could be the wedding dress for you.
