Representative Tony Sellier to Participate in GOPAC Summit Hispanic Issues and Support for Hispanic Candidates Key Topics Ft. Valley, GA – August 21, 2010 – Georgia State Representative Tony Sellier (R-136) announced today that he will be participating in the Hispanic Campaign Training Summit taking place today in Texas. The event, attracting speakers nationwide, is sponsored by the national Republican organization GOPAC and is focusing on identifying, preparing, and supporting Hispanic candidates running in local, state, and national elections. Representative Sellier has been asked to take an active part in the summit and discuss his views on the concerns of the Hispanic community as well as how to encourage Hispanic voters to participate more actively in the legislative process through candidacy. “For the last several years most of the media noise surrounding the Hispanic community has been focused on illegal immigration rather than the everyday concerns of the community’s voters,” said Sellier. “The fact is that most Hispanic voters are worried about the same issues as other conservatives and we would like to see these views represented by more Hispanic candidates. I look forward to offering my input on a topic that should be a larger part of today’s political landscape.” The Hispanic Campaign Training Summit is being held today at the Dallas Renaissance Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The summit features nationally recognized speakers such as former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales as well as current legislators and business leaders from the private sector.
